An ongoing police incident has closed a section of Route 61 near Orwigsburg.
Just after 2:00pm, emergency personnel were called to shutdown Route 61 between Brick Hill Road and Paramount Road for an incident.
An investigation is currently underway in the area of the BBT Bank.
UPDATE: 2:45pm - State Police and a Schuylkill County Coroner have been called to the scene of a reported homicide.
UPDATE: 4:00pm - According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a homicide investigation is underway after an incident along Route 61 near Orwigsburg. The suspect is in custody and there is no danger to the public.
State Police will release additional information at a press conference this evening. We will have updates as they become available.
