A fire damaged several homes Thursday morning in Girardville.
Around 7:30am, Girardville Police Chief Fred Lahovski was leaving an incident on Ogden Street when he saw smoke coming from a home on A Street and called it in.
Fire personnel arrived on scene and found heavy smoke coming from 235 A Street and called in a working fire and upped the call to a 2nd Alarm.
Firefighters from Girardville and the surrounding communities were on the scene within minutes and quickly contained the fire marking it under control around 8:20am.
No injuries were reported, but an elderly woman who lived next door was rescued by Chief Lahovski prior to emergency personnel arriving on scene.
As of 9:00am, crews were still at the scene cleaning up.
