Francis Galavage, Sr.
, 74, of Beaver Meadows, PA, passed away Thursday, April 15th, at Einstein Medical Center East Norriton.

Francis was born in Hecksherville, PA on September 18, 1946, a son of the late Julie (Bossig) and George Gurlavage.

He graduated from Nativity Catholic High School.

He served in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.

Francis retired from PP&L at the Berwick Nuclear Plant also worked road construction.

He was a proud believer of his catholic faith and spent hours watching Mother Angelica on TV. He also loved cooking and trying new recipes.

Francis is survived by three daughters, Michelle Hueston, of St. Clair; Vanessa Strausser, of Reading; Patricia Turner, of Millheim; a son,Francis G. Galavage Jr., of Pottsville; two sisters, Joan Machita, of Minersville; Lorraine Gurlavage, of Port Carbon, a brother, Michael Galavage, of Port Carbon; and also survived by 10 Grandchildren Mindy, Amanda, Michael, Jacob, Cole, Evan, Zachary, Cody, Skyler, and Emily, and 1 Great Grandchild Savannah.

He is preceded in death by a son Michael G., and a brother George Galavage.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Church, St. Clair, at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 21st, with Rev. Msgr. William F. Glosser officiating.

Friends and family may call Wednesday 9:30 am at St. Clare of Assisi Church.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park in Schuylkill Haven.

Joseph A. Lugo Hernandez, Sr.
, 74, of Orwigsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Norwegian, Pottsville.

Born on July 11, 1946 in Annyas Anasco, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose and Magdalena (Hernandez) Lugo.

He graduated high school in Puerto Rico.

Joseph proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He worked as a machinist at various factories in the surrounding area.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Pedro Lugo; sisters: Eva and Felicita Lugo; and Nora Luz Lugo.

Joseph is survived by two daughters, Sherry M. Driesbach, wife of Chris , of Orwigsburg;
Christina Grogg, wife of Shane, of Bernville; two sons Joseph A. Lugo, husband of Kelly, of Shartlesville; Michael A. Lugo, husband of Kelli, of New Ringgold; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and brother Abraham Lugo, husband of Aurea, of Puerto Rico.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 22nd at 12:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Margaret M. Curry, 83, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away peacefully on Friday morning in her daughter's residence.

Born in Pottsville, on August 15, 1937, she was a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Wilson) Curnow.

She was a 1955 graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.

Margaret worked as a sales associate in the appliance department for Sears & Roebuck for over 30 years and retired in 1996 as an activity aid at Orwigsburg Center.

She enjoyed crafts and scrapbooking, reading, and doing puzzles on her IPad.

Her family was her greatest joy and they made sure that she was well taken care of through the years.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Curnow.

Margaret is survived by three daughters, Christine Stupp, wife of Ralph , of Hamburg; Debra Thomas, wife of Charles, of Galloway, NJ; Michelle Johnson, wife of Melvin, of Egg Harbor , NJ; three sons, Ken Curry, husband of Dee, of Schuylkill Haven; Francis Curry, husband of Deb, of Auburn; Thomas Curry, husband of Nancy, of Pottsville; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church,.319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the procession will leave for church.

Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Marie E. (Sadusky) George, 78, of Shenandoah, passed away on Saturday, April 17th at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on January 8th, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Helen Santella.

Marie worked as a housekeeper for many years, she loved cooking and being with family and friends. She also loved listening to the music of The Who.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 son, Ronald Sadusky in 2004, 1 brother, Donald Santella, and 2 sisters, Dolores Buhl and Lorraine Becker.

Marie leaves behind 1 son, Robert Sadusky with his fiancĂ© Patricia Roeder – Shenandoah, 1 sister, Pat Sadusky – Aristes, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 21st from 8:30am to 10am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be held at 10am with burial to follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Due to Covid-19, all masking and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
