Earl W. Yeager, 73, Gordon, passed away on Tuesday April 20th at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Ashland, he was a son of the late Willis and Gertrude Yeager. He worked at Laubenstein Manufacturing until its closure and then Cargill Meat Solutions until his retirement.

Earl enjoyed the outdoors and camping.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Brandon and his two step-brothers.

Earl is survived by his wife, Beverly “Diane” Yeager, Gordon; his three sons: Brian and his wife Sharon Yeager, Frackville; Kevin Yeager and his wife Tiffany Kase, Frackville; Scott Yeager, Gordon; his daughter, Tracey and her husband James Schaal, Port Carbon; his 7 loving grandchildren; his relatives in Quakake along with several nieces and nephews; also his beloved dog, Baby.

Family and friends are invited to his viewing from 10 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday, April 24th from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will follow at the Citizen’s Cemetery in Lavelle.

Kurt S. Salak
, age 53, of Orwigsburg, PA passed away Sunday, April 19th, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born in Pottsville, PA on March 10, 1968, he was the son of the late Samuel Michael Salak and Maryann J. (Matas) Salak, who survives him in Orwigsburg.

Kurt was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School, Class of 1987. He started out working as a Police Officer in Washington D.C. and then in Harrisburg, before becoming a State Trooper for the Pennsylvania State Police.

Kurt was a loving father who loved antique cars. He was a member of R.O.R.R. and an expert carpenter.

In addition his father, he was preceded in death by a sister Susan C. Salak

In addition to his Mother, Kurt is survived by his wife of 26 years, Christine L. (Bendetti) Salak; two daughters: Monica C. Salak; and Lauren M. Salak, all of Orwigsburg; and aunts, uncles, and cousins

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 1pm on Monday, April 26th, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday from 11AM-1PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held in the Queen of the Universe Cemetery in Pottsville.

Janice Fennessy
, 74, former Locustdale resident, passed away Tuesday, April 13th, at the Mt. Carmel Nursing Center, Mt. Carmel. Born in Fountain Springs, April 15, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James and Mildred Guinther Fennessy. 

 She was a graduate of the former Ashland Area Joint High School, class of 1964, and the McCann School of Business, attaining an associate degree in business. Janice was a member of the Grace Independent Evangelical Church, Locustdale, and was employed 35 years as an Office Supervisor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Treasury Department, Harrisburg. Following her employment in Harrisburg, she was employed as a ticket taker for the Pioneer Tunnel tourist attraction in Ashland, until her retirement. Preceding her in death was a twin sister, Janet, and a brother James Fennessy.

Survivors:

Sister: Sallianne Fennessy, Enola, PA

Sister: Margaret Dobson, Sun City, Arizona

Brother: John Fennessy and his wife Susan, Chesterfield, Michigan

Nieces, nephews, and cousins

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial funeral service, Saturday, April 24th, at 12 Noon, in the Grace Independent Church, Locustdale. Officiating will be Rev. Rose Marquardt, pastor. Interment will follow in Citizen’s Cemetery, Lavelle. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 Jude Place, Memphis, Tn., 38105.
