Thursday evening's District XI AAA Softball Semi-Final matchup was expected to be close but nobody predicated the exciting finish.
North Schuylkill pulled an early lead 3-1in the game and increased their lead to 7-1 by the 4th. This game wasn't over by any means.
By the 5th inning, the Lady Cardinals have fought back and tied the game 7-7. A relatively calm 6th inning kept them tied going into the 7th with North Schuylkill leaving Pine Grove scoreless.
With two outs remaining in the 7th inning for North Schuylkill and Shaina DeAngelo on second base, Spartans' Abby Kuzio hit a single that would drive DeAngelo in for the final run ending the game 8-7.
North Schuylkill moves on to play to play Palmerton for District XI AAA Championship on Tuesday, June 1st, 2021 at 4:00pm at Northwestern.
