Superintendent Brian Waite of the Shenandoah Valley School District was recently informed by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation that Shenandoah Valley was selected as one of 668 school districts in the United States to be recognized as the best communities in the nation for music education in 2021.
This award recognizes outstanding efforts made by teachers, administrators, parents, students, and community leaders who have made music education an integral part of a well-rounded education. Designations are made to school districts that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and accessibility to music education.
The certificate reads “To Shenandoah Valley School District for outstanding support of music education by enriching the lives of children and advancing student achievement.”
Accepting the award on behalf of Shenandoah Valley is SV Music Instructor and Director of Bands Mr. John Shoener. The only other school district recognized locally was North Schuylkill HS.
