Two truck driver were uninjured after a crash on Interstate 81 near Frackville on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 12:00pm when a tractor trailer was travelling northbound on Interstate 81. A second tractor trailer was stopped on the east berm of the highway near mile marker 127 in Ryan Township with their hazard lights activated.
For unknown reason, the first tractor trailer merged from the passing lane to the right lane striking the rear of the parked tractor trailer.
The parked tractor trailer ended up rolling onto it's right side in the ditch while the first tractor trailer became engulfed in flames.
Both driver were able to escape their vehicles uninjured.
Firefighters from Ryan Township, Frackville, and Englewood responded to the scene with surrounding communities providing water with their tankers.
Traffic on the Interstate between Frackville and Mahanoy City was detoured for approximately an hour while the scene was cleared.
