On Sunday, a ceremony was held at the Frackville Elks to commemorate Flag Day on Monday.
The annual event was held Sunday afternoon with the help of the Gordon Boys Scouts and the Mount Carmel VFW.
The program was opened by Elks Exalted Ruler William Cickavage who was joined by State Representative Tim Twardzik who was invited as guest speaker.
The Gordon Boys Scouts and carried each of the American Flag as the history of them was read.
The indoor portion of the ceremony was closed with a rendition of "God Bless America" by the over 50 residents and veterans that attended the service.
Outside at the Elks Lodge Flag Pole, the American Flag, Pennsylvania Flag, and POW flags were raised and the Mount Carmel VFW Honor Guard assisted with a gun salute.
