Many of the residents of Shenandoah Manor are unable to go fishing like they used to, but that doesn't mean fishing can't come to them.
On Saturday morning, with the help of Hooks n Triggers, a 501c3 non-profit based in Watsontown, residents of Shenandoah Manor got to cast some lines in hope of bagging the big one.
Hooks n Triggers, started by Robert Flick, helps youth, veterans, and the disabled enjoy hunting, fishing, or anything outdoors.
The organization brought their own tank similar to the type used by firefighters for a tanker task force that held 600 gallons of pond water that was brought in by the Ringtown Valley Fire Department. The Shenandoah Fire Department approved Ringtown bringing the water in due to their access to water suitable for the fish.
The fish was purchased from the Zion's Grove Trout Hatchery who provided 30 to 40 Rainbow Trout, Tiger Trout, and Golden Trout.
While fishing, the residents told stories of their favorites places to fish with their fellow residents and had a good laugh as they got a picture with their catch.
Angi Mitchell, an employee of Shenandoah Manor organized the event after seeing Hooks n Triggers online.
