Born in Port Carbon, PA on November 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William and Mamie (Dimmerling) Hoy. Joan was a member of the former St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon. She loved making crafts, going on vacations to the Caribbean, and attending Ed and Dwayne's summertime parties.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Post Sr. on May 27, 2003, brothers: George, William , and Delroy and sisters: Mamie and Dorothy. Joan is survived by daughter Karen Joy (Charles); son Edward J. Post Jr. (Tammy); grandchildren: Dwayne (Megan), Kristina (Adam), Kory (Brittany), and Matt (Missy); and great-grandchildren: Sydnee, Greyson, Kyrah, Kaci, Gage, Owen, and Chace.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hillside SPCA P.O. Box 233 Pottsville, PA 17901 or Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA P.O. Box 332 Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
