On Friday, an investigation began into the theft of 6 catalytic converters from vehicles in a car lot.
According to Mahanoy Township Police, on Sunday, June 27th, 2021, around 4:30am, two individuals were caught on camera stealing 6 catalytic converter from the Vito Rinaldi lot along the Gold Star Highway near Shenandoah.
On Friday, police put out an alert looking for information on the vehicle and participants involved.
Late Friday morning, Police spotted the SUV in the video and attempted to pull the driver over and a short pursuit ensued.
The driver eventually crashed the SUV into a guide rail along Route 924 just north of Shenandoah where the driver was taken into custody.
The investigation is reported ongoing and the identity of the driver or person involved has not been released.
