The Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven have released additional details on Saturday afternoon's crash on the Gordon Nagle Trail.
According to Troopers, the crash occurred on Route 901/Gordon Nagle Trail in North Manheim Township around 3:00pm near the intersection with SPCA Road.
Police say a 32 year old Coal Township man was travelling south in a Kia Sorento and was negotiating a right curve when he crossed over the double yellow line into the northbound lanes and struck a Ford F-150 head on being driven by a 67 year old Pitman man.
Both vehicles struck head on.
The Coal Township man was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville where he later died.
The Pitman man suffered minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pottsville as well.
A passenger in the F-150, a 66 year old Pitman woman, suffered injuries and was flown by Medivac to Geisinger in Danville.
Route 901 was closed for approximately 2 1/2 hours while the scene was cleared and investigated.
Assisting at the crash were members of the Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Unit as well as Schuylkill EMS, Minersville EMS, the Pottsville Fire Department and Yorkville Fire/Rescue.
State Police did not release the names of the victims as of this posting.
