A Mahanoy City man was taken into custody after an incident with police late Sunday.
According to borough police, late in the evening of Sunday, July 4th, 2021, a dispatch was received to respond to the 1000 Block of Market Street for a report of loud music in the area.
Patrolman Thomas Rentschler responded and found the music playing extremely loud from the home at 1026 Market Street where he made contact with Hierro-De La Cruz, 29.
De La Cruz was advised his music was at an unreasonable level, to which he complied and turned down the music.
Patrolman Rentschler left the area multiple times and returned each time to find the music back at an unreasonable level.
Rentschler attempted to reason with De La Cruz to turn down the music when he began to argue and yell.
After multiple attempts to calm down De La Cruz, he wouldn't comply with commands from police and was taken into custody.
De La Cruz was charged by Mahanoy City Police with disorderly conduct for unreasonable noise and public drunkenness.
He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge Reiley and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $10,000 Straight Cash Bail.
