On Saturday, a motorcycle run was held in Minersville to benefit Dustin's Adventureland, Schuylkill County's first all-inclusive playground.
The run was organized the Coal Region Brotherhood Motorcycle Club and invited riders to join them in a day of riding and entertainment.
Registration and the after-party of the event were held at Minersville Lion's Club Pavilion near the site of where the playground will be built.
Riders completed the two-stop run at their own pace which included stops at the Mckeansburg Hotel, near New Ringgold and the Carsonville Hotel in Halifax.
After the ride, participants were invited to return to Minersville for food and entertainment. Entertainment included J.T. Thomas, Nick Tauer Band, TJ Chupick, and Big Ger.
Also during the event, one of the participants, Dave Reber, presented a $1,000 check to Dustin's Adventureland, on behalf of Derek Reber and Joe Tokarick, of Summer Hill Meats in Auburn.
Dustin's Adventureland is a non-profit that was organized to eliminate barriers for children that are handicapped or have special needs. The non-profit's mission is to build Schuylkill County's first all-inclusive playground that will be specifically designed for these children.
To date, through donations and fundraising, the group is less than 100,000 from their goal.
