Donald E. Sigler, 71 years of age, of Andreas, Pennsylvania died on Monday, August 23, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital Bucks Campus in Quakertown, Pennsylvania from covid - 19 complications.Born Wednesday, April 5, 1950 in Rochester, New York. the son of the late Donald R., and Ruby (Baker) Sigler. He was also predeceased by; wife, Susan M. (Fachko) Sigler in 1987; companion of 23 years, Deborah A. Ciappa on November 8, 2019.
Surviving are sons, Raymond Sigler, Brett Begovich and his wife Marissa, brother, Dale Sigler and his wife Carol; step sons, Louis Landis, Dylan Ciappa; step daughters, Emily B. Ciappa and her fiance Brian Mills, Lori Zimmerman; grandchildren, Kolby, Ethan, Megan, Tyler, Seth, Madison, Zoe, and Lexi.
A life long truck driver, "Ziggy" was currently working for Embrovac of Tamaqua. After graduating from High School Ziggy enlisted in the United States Army serving honorably during the Vietnam War. An avid outdoorsman, Ziggy was a devoted hunter and fisherman. One of his trophy Northern Pike swam in the aquarium of Cabela's in Hamburg for over 7 years. Ziggy reveled in tending to his home in West Penn Twp. He nurtured his many different types of flowers, and was particularly proud of his sunflower patch. During holidays he assisted Emily as her sous chef.

Frank John McKenna, 57 years of age, of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly on Monday, August 23, 2021, at home.Born Thursday, December 12, 1963 in New York, New York, the son of the late Francis and Mary Ann (Hefko) McKenna.
Surviving are daughter, Autumn McKenna of Jim Thorpe; sister, Laura Keraga, wife of Michael of Port Jefferson Station, NY.;
Uncle to Christie, Michael and Matthew Keraga.
Frankie was a truck driver for Pohl Transportation. In his free time he liked to play the drums. He was a fan of classic rock music. Frankie enjoyed spending time with his family, working out, swimming, cars and motorcycles.

Marie E. Oswald, 94 of 725 Walnut Street, Ashland, PA passed away Thursday, August 26 at the Green Valley Skilled Nursing Facility. Born in Ashland on August 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Margaret (Amann) Burke. She was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School in Ashland where she was active in the library and voted May Queen as a senior. Marie graduated from St Joseph’s Nursing School, Philadelphia in 1947. She worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years. She began her career in the men’s ward at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Pottsville. She next cared for terminally ill cancer patients at Rosary Hill, NY. She worked in Philadelphia as a school nurse and in private duty. Marie then worked at the Ashland Hospital in the operating room. Due to a strong devotion to her family, she worked as a private duty nurse in Ashland at night and raised her four sons during the day. She finished her career at the Mount Carmel Nursing Center.Marie was a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church in Ashland. She was active for many years in the Catholic Daughters of America and served as the Treasurer for several years. She was a member of the Catholic Nurses Guild, as well as the Friends of St Joseph at her parish.
Marie’s life was centered on Christ. She developed a lifelong devotion to the Blessed Mother as a young girl. She was a constant example of our Lord’s call to self- sacrificing love. Those who knew and loved her could attest to her powerful prayer life and unwavering faith. Marie grew up one of three girls and relished family life with her four sons. She enjoyed camping trips to Tobyhanna State Park as well as weekend cookouts at the Higher Ups and Ideal parks. She grew to love sports and enjoyed cheering for her sons in numerous events over the years. Marie adored her five grandchildren and enjoyed every minute spent with them. Marie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Joseph who she loved dancing with and her sister Peggy Burke. Surviving are her four sons and families, Gerard (Beth) Sterling VA, Joseph Ashland, Jim (Suzie) Ashland, Frank (Laura) Danville, and a sister Frances McGrath Pottsville. She also leaves behind five grandchildren and the lights of her life: Michael, Anthony and Matthew Oswald and Emily and Grace Salerno-Oswald.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Tuesday, August 31 in St. Charles Barromeo Church in Ashland. Rev. Brian Miller officiating.Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 30 at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home in Ashland and Tuesday10:00-11:00 AM from the funeral home. Interment will be at St Joseph’s Cemetery in Ashland.

She had previously worked in the local garment industry and at the former Lamp factory. She enjoyed fishing and was an avid reader.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William in 2015 and 3 brothers, John (Jack) O’Brien, Dennis O’Brien and William O’Brien.
Marie is survived by her son William and his wife Kourtney, at home; a daughter, Theresa Holley and her husband Girard, Brier City; 3 grandchildren, Jacquelyn Holley, Courtney Holley and Jacob Holley; 3 great grandchildren, Kole Donmoyer, Salina Donmoyer and Jace Platts; a sister, Cathy Zimmerman; nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets (Nellie, Misti and Mittens).
A Funeral Service will be Tuesday at 11AM at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Rev. Joan Weiderhold will officiate. Born in Shenandoah on August 1st, 1931, he was the son of the late Simon and Teophilia (Aleknavage) Stanulis. Joseph was a 1949 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah. He then served our country as a United States Marine during the Korean Conflict. After the service, Joseph worked many years for Purolator Products until his retirement.
Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded by 1 brother, Edward Stanulis and 1 sister, Helen Kriner.
He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Mary (Bokuniewicz) Stanulis and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation for family and friends will take place at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah on Wednesday, September 1st from 8:30am to 10am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am in Divine Mercy Parish, 218 W. Cherry St, Shenandoah and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
