Vanco Michail Georgevic, 70, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, August 15th, at home.Born in Velmevci, Macedonia on October 17, 1950, he was a son of the late Michail & Lubica (Stojanovska) Georgevic.
Vanco and his family moved to the United States from the former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia (now called North Macedonia), and arrived on August 16, 1966. After moving to the United States, he took night classes to learn the English language before enrolling in Pottsville Area High School. He was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and Penn State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education.
He was employed by the Schuylkill Haven School District as a mathematics teacher for over 35 years.
Coach Georgevic was a devoted father, teacher, and coach. He was passionate about the game of soccer, and played an integral role in the organization of the Schuylkill County Youth Soccer Association where he served as a scheduler. He served as the general manager of Pottsville Youth Soccer Association. Prior to the establishment of soccer in Schuylkill County he traveled to Berks County to officiate high school games as a PIAA official.
Most notably he started the high school soccer program at Schuylkill Haven High School where he has spent the past 30 years as the team’s Head Coach.
His passion for education, the game of soccer, and serving the community combined with his outgoing and unique personality has impacted the lives of countless people in a positive way. His zest for life extended to many versatile hobbies and arts, mainly frequenting Renninger’s Market for valuables, tinkering with cars and engines, and landscaping endeavors. He simply loved life.
Vanco is survived by two sons: Andre, husband of Ashley Georgevic, & Michail, husband of Jillian Georgevic, all of Orwigsburg; a daughter, Julianne Georgevic, of Schuylkill Haven; two grandchildren: Aleksander, & Johanna, & his former wife, Barbara Georgevic, of Schuylkill Haven. He is also survived by a sister, Pandora, wife of Marvin White, of St. Clair, a nephew, David, husband of Missi White, a niece, Pamela White, a great-nephew, Tyler, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, August 22nd at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Cressona. A viewing will be held from 3 PM until the time of service at the church.

Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, she was the daughter of Robert F. Graeff, Sr., Newtown Reilly Township, and the late Carmela Natale Graeff. She was a 1985 graduate of Minersville Area High School; and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Penn State. She was employed by the Defense Information Systems Agency at the Naval Supply Systems Command, Mechanicsburg.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley “Wes” Geiger, in 2015; her sister-in-law, Crista Laudeman Graeff, in 2019.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Justin, and his spouse, Elena, Mechanicsburg; her brothers, Robert Graeff, Jr. and Frederick Graeff, both of Newtown; two nieces, Cassandra Kessler (née Graeff), North Carolina and Emily Graeff, Newtown, and a nephew, Jared Graeff, Newtown.
The family will accept visitors at Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury Street, Minersville, on Friday from Noon until services at 3:00 P.M. Donations to support Penn State Health Children’s Hospital can be made to https://fourdiamonds.donordrive.com/.
Visitation will be held at the family owned Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk, Inc., 7922 Wise Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will begin at 6:30 PM. A graveside service and interment will be held at Schuylkill Memorial Park, 75 Memorial Drive, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972 on Friday at 11:30 AM.
