Michael F. Swartz, 69, Frackville, passed away peacefully Thursday evening at his residence, with his family by his side.Born in Ashland he was a son of the late Ralph and Adrienne Sabotchick Swartz. He was employed as an insurance salesman for Prudential Insurance for 25 years and was presently employed by the Richard B. Ryon Insurance Company, Pottsville.
He was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Parish and a life member of the Goodwill Hose Company, both of Frackville. He was also a member of the Washington Hook and Ladder, Mahanoy City and the Schuylkill Historical Fire Committee. Mike was an avid Notre Dame and Eagles fan.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Judy, his two sons; Matt and his wife Lara Swartz, Ringtown and Nick Swartz, Frackville, two grandchildren; Vivian and Paxton and his sister Barbara wife of William Gaverick, Frackville and “ all of his sons of the firehouse “ also by nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday evening, August 27th, at 7 p.m. in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Frackville with Msgr. William Glosser as the celebrant. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 5 p.m. until time of mass.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers contributions, in Mike’s name, be made to either the Goodwill Hose Co. PO Box # 25, Frackville, Pa 17931 or to the American Cancer Society.

Brooke W. Weiss, 50 of Port Carbon, Pennsylvania died on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at home.Born Tuesday, August 18, 1970 in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania the son of the late Shirley M. (Altemose) Schlegel-Lentz.
Surviving are; his wife Beth A. (Gould) Weiss; father, George Weiss; sons, Christopher L. Weiss, Adam I. Weiss & Eric W. Weiss; siblings, Trevor Weiss, Renee Kresge; grandfather to Jackson R. Weiss, step father to Matthew Schwenk, the father of Jayse Schwenk. Many nieces and nephews also survive Brooke.
A graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. Brooke, last worked for Summit Utilities of Hazleton. Brooke was an expert welder and a great black smith, He was an amateur leather worker. An avid outdoors-man, Brooke enjoyed hunting, cooking, being creative and riding his motorcycle.
