A teen from Mahanoy City died in a crash over weekend in Wayne County.
According to Edward R. Howell, Coroner of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, Nicholas M. Dunphy, of Mahanoy City died in a crash on Saturday evening.
Howell said on Saturday, September, 18, 2021, at 7:01 PM, his office was dispatched to the scene of a fatal single vehicle crash in Preston Township near 1346 Crosstown Highway, Lakewood, Wayne County. The crash reportedly occurred just before 6:00 PM.
At 8:15 PM, Edward R. Howell, Psy.D, Wayne County Coroner, pronounced Dunphy dead at the scene.

Howell said Dunphy was the driver of the Dodge Dakota pickup truck that was involved in a crash that struck multiple trees upon driving off the edge of the Eastbound lane of Crosstown Highway. Dunphy was reported to be wearing his seatbelt.
An autopsy was performed Monday morning where Coroner Howell ruled that the cause of death is Multiple Traumatic Injuries; the manner of death is Accidental.
