On Friday night, the North Schuylkill Football Hall of Fame inducted seven new members as part of its 44th and 45th class during a halftime ceremony of Friday’s game against Palisades at Ghosh Orthodontics Field at Spartan Stadium.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Class induction was postponed until this year.
Class of 2020
Brett Budwash
A 2015 graduate, Budwash started three years at center, anchoring the offensive line. As a senior, Budwash was selected to the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association All-Star team, Hazleton Standard-Speaker, Republican-Herald, and Anthracite Football League first-team offensive line. Budwash earned a degree in secondary education from Bloomsburg University and is currently employed as a substitute teacher and assistant football coach at North Schuylkill.
Paul Dean
Dean graduated in 2015 where he was a four-year varsity letterman, three-year starter on defensive line and two-year starter on offensive line. During his sophomore year, he was an All-Area honorable mention defensive lineman, Anthracite Football League second-team defensive line, and Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association All-Star first-team defensive line. As a senior, Dean was selected to the All-Area second-team defensive line, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team and Dream Team nose guard, Anthracite Football League All-Star first-team defensive line, Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team All-Area, and honorable mention All-State defensive line. He graduated with a dual degree in early childhood/special education from Bloomsburg University and is an 8th grade learning support teacher at Pine Grove School District.
Nate Gadinski
A 2015 graduate, Gadinski started three years as a defensive tackle and offensive lineman. As a junior, Gadinski was selected to the Republican-Herald All-Area first-team, Hazleton Standard-Speaker All-Area first-team, and PA Football News All-State third-team offensive line. During his senior year, he was selected to the Republican-Herald All-Area first-team, Hazleton Standard-Speaker All-Area first team, Anthracite Football League first-team, WNEP Dream Team defensive tackle, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association and T-102 offensive lineman of the year, PA Football News and Eastern PA Football All-State teams. Gadinski was also North Schuylkill’s scholar-athlete recipient. In addition to football, Gadinski exceled on the wrestling mat, starting four years while compiling a career record of 125-45. He was a two-time state qualifier and District 11 scholar-athlete recipient. Gadinski graduated from Bloomsburg University where he was a recipient of the Duane and Ruth Braun Field Scholarship. He is employed by Geo-Technology Associates as a field geologist.
Class of 2021
Bobby Grigas
A 2016 graduate, Grigas was a four-year starter playing defensive back, quarterback, kicker, and punter. As a freshman, Grigas was selected to the Republican-Herald first-team as a defensive back and was named rookie of the year. As a sophomore quarterback, he was selected to the Republican-Herald and Hazleton Standard-Speaker second-team. As a junior, Grigas was selected to the Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team at quarterback, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team quarterback and punter, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association Dream Team quarterback, and News-Item and Republican-Herald player of the year. As a senior captain, he was selected to the Republican-Herald second-team at quarterback, Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team quarterback, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team quarterback and kicker, Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association Dream Team quarterback and was a five-time T-102 player of the game. Grigas holds the school single-season and career records for completions, yards, and touchdowns. Grigas started three years in basketball and was named captain his senior year. On the baseball diamond, he started four years and was captain his senior year. He was the Republican-Herald All-Area rookie of the year and was named to the Republican-Herald All-Area and All-Schuylkill League Coaches first-team three times in addition to the South Carolina Spring Break All-Tournament team his senior year. Upon graduation, Grigas was a starting quarterback for the Riverhawks football team before a season-ending injury in game three. Also participating in Riverhawks baseball as a pitcher, he was selected as the Landmark Conference rookie of the year, Division 3 All-National team, and three-time Landmark Conference first-team. Grigas set the Landmark Conference record with 15 strikeouts in one game. In 2019, he was a Landmark Conference champion and NCAA quarterfinalist. He graduated from Susquehanna University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and is pursuing his master’s in environmental engineering.
Tevin Murray
Murray graduated in 2016, starting three years at wide receiver and defensive back. As a junior wide receiver, he was selected to the Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team, Republican-Herald
All-Area first-team, WNEP Dream Team, and was an All-State football selection. During his senior year at wide receiver, Murray was selected to the Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team, Republican-Herald All-Area first-team, and All-State team. He holds the career receptions and single-season receiving touchdowns records at North Schuylkill. In baseball, Murray was twice named first-team Republican-Herald pitcher and was a first-team All-Region first baseman and pitcher. Murray graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in human resource management and labor studies. He is employed by the Fargo Moorehead Redhawks of the American Association of Professional Baseball in Fargo, North Dakota.
CJ Steinhilber
A 2016 graduate and a member of North Schuylkill’s Eastern Conference championship team, Steinhilber started four years at offensive guard and three years at linebacker. He earned a bevy of post-season honors including Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association first-team offensive guard, Hazleton Standard-Speaker first-team offensive guard, and Republican-Herald first-team offensive guard and second-team linebacker. Steinhilber started four years at first base and was a pitcher on North Schuylkill’s first district championship team in school history. He was a first-team Republican-Herald All-Area selection. In wrestling, Steinhilber was a four-year starter at 185/195 weight class. A state qualifier, Steinhilber posted over 100 career wins. He was named to the Republican-Herald All-Area first-team as a junior and senior. Steinhilber was a member of North Schuylkill’s wrestling teams that won the Schuylkill League championship and 600th victory in school history. He graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Lebanon Valley College where he was the Robert A. Clay scholarship recipient. On the gridiron for Lebanon Valley, he started four years on special teams and two years at fullback where he was named first-team All-MAC. He is employed by the Schuylkill County Municipal Authority as a water operator.
Dane Tarantelli
Tarantelli graduated in 2016. He started three years on the offensive line and three years on the defensive line. As a junior offensive lineman, he was named honorable mention to the Hazleton Standard-Speaker All-Area team. During his senior year, Tarantelli was selected to the Anthracite Football League first-team at defensive end and second-team offensive tackle. At tackle, he earned T-102 lineman of the game two times. In wrestling, Tarantelli was a three-year varsity letterman, two-time District 11 place winner, and regional qualifier. Throwing the javelin in track and field, he was a District 11 champion and state qualifier. In college, Tarantelli was a four-year letterman on the Wilkes Football team where he started three years on the defensive line and was named a captain as a senior. He was a one-year member of the Wilkes Wrestling team. Tarantelli graduated from Wilkes University with degrees in Secondary Education and History. He is employed as a high school social studies teacher at Line Mountain School District. Tarantelli is an assistant varsity football coach at Mt. Carmel Area and assistant varsity wrestling coach at North Schuylkill.
