Fans attending the Minersville – Shenandoah Valley football game on Sunday evening had the opportunity to not only see a high school football game but to show their appreciation to the men and women from all branches of the military who served our country.
The event was coordinated by Shenandoah Valley Head Football Coach Ed Moran and Sgt Craig Strohl of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
The SV Football Program would like to thank the National Guard for providing the Blue Devils with camouflage jerseys and the 2021 Military Game Sponsor St. Luke’s Sports Medicine for donating special commemorative coins that were given to the first 50 veterans who attended the game.
An Honor Guard composed of members from the American Legion Anthony P. Damato Medal of Honor Post #792 accompanied the Shenandoah Valley Band in presenting the colors and playing the national anthem prior to the kickoff.
