Edward Balonis, 82, of Drums, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 21st, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton.

Edward was born in Mahanoy City, PA on August 4, 1939, a son of the late Margaret (Klemavich) and George Balonis.

He worked as an engineer at Sandmeyer Steel in Philadelphia PA., and later opened his own bar “Bingo Eddie’s” in Hazleton.

He is survived by his companion of many years Mary Lou Ward, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a brother George, and sisters Margaret Balonis, Eleanor Kazokas, and Gloria Rodriguez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 10 AM on Saturday, October 16th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.

Friends may call Saturday October 16, from 9 AM at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Eugene Bushick, 63, of Park Place, PA, passed away Friday, September 24th, at his residence.

Timothy Dennis Stahl
, 74 of New England Valley, RD Tamaqua, died Wednesday night at the St. Luke’s ICU. Graduate of Pottsville High School in 1965, he enlisted for four years in the US Air Force serving one year in Viet Nam. He retired from PP&L after working for 35 years in both Hazleton and Frackville offices. He was a very charitable person often giving anonymous donations and he hand-built over a dozen dollhouses raffled off by the American Cancer Society. He was also a member of the Tamaqua Lions Club.

He was predeceased by his younger sister Romona (Stahl) Betz in 2000, his younger brother Daniel in 1987, his mother Margaret (Bashore) Stahl in 1985, and his father William C. Stahl in 1969. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frances L. (DeSantis) Stahl, son Timothy M. Stahl and his wife Rachel, daughter Tonia M. (Stahl) Barron and her husband Robert, and 6 grandchildren: Victoria, Timothy, Elizabeth, Alexander, Nicholas, and Tempest; all of Tamaqua.
A family-only interment will be at Odd Fellows in Tamaqua.

Donations in his name in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society – Carbon/Tamaqua Unit.

Dominic Lee Brase
, 16, of Tremont Rd., passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at home.

Born on August 30, 2005 in Hershey, he was a son of Brian Brase and his companion Kayla Davidson of Lititz and Jessica Brase and her companion Danny Hain, Jr. of Tremont.

Dominic was a sophomore at Pine Grove Area High School and attended Vo-Tech for Welding.

He worked for Zerbe Manufacturing, Pine Grove.

Dominic enjoyed welding, riding the side-by-side and dirt bikes, picking on his sisters, and being outside. He was an outgoing person and loved to make people smile and laugh.

Preceding him in death was a grandfather, Ronald Kerlin.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Evynessence Brase of Lititz and Hannah Brase of Tremont; two step sisters, Tenesci Hain and Tetiana Hain; a step brother Travis Hain; grandparents, Lynn Thomas-Pfautz and husband Douglas of Lititz, Linda Kerlin of Grantville; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 5:00 P.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Barry Spatz officiating. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 139 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, Pa. 17963 in his memory.

Robert J. Zelonis, 77, of Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2021 at the Inova Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.

Born in Shenandoah, Pa on September 15th, 1944, he was the son of the late William and Helen (Klimowicz) Zelonis.

Robert was a graduate of George Washington University. He began his career working for the Navy, then worked for the Pentagon, but spent 40 years working in the federal government for the U.S. Treasury.

Robert enjoyed woodworking and fishing.

Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by 1 brother, Joseph Zelonis

He is survived by 2 brothers, William Zelonis with his wife Theresa – Frackville and Edward Zelonis with his wife Rita – Mahanoy City, and 1 sister, Mary Ellen Racis – Shenandoah, along with nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Tuesday, September 28th from 9 to 11am at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Scripture services will be held at 11am at the funeral home and will be conducted by Robert’s nephew, Fr. Christopher Zelonis. Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
