Two people were injured in a one-vehicle crash in Butler Township on Tuesday morning.
Just after 5:00am, Tuesday, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of 768 Fountain Street for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
According to Butler Township Police at the scene, an SUV with two occupants was travelling north on Route 61 when for unknown reasons, veered to the left, crossed the opposing lane and went off the roadway. The vehicle struck a tree head-on near 780 Fountain Street.
The occupants were assisted by EMS and firefighters at the scene and transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Responding to the scene were police from Butler Township and Ashland, and fire personnel from Fountain Springs, Englewood, Lavelle, and the Washington Rescue from Ashland. The Washington Ambulance and Shenandoah Ambulance transported the patients.
