A New York man has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash on Interstate 81 on Thursday.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Jonestown, the crash occurred around 3:15pm in the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 in Swatara Township near mile marker 94.8.
Troopers say the crash occurred when Robert Mesec, 44, of Plattsburgh, NY was riding his Harley Davidson and failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway.
Mesec drifted from the left lane of travel, onto the shoulder and struck the guide rail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Interstate 81 southbound was closed while the scene was investigated and cleared.
Troopers from Jonestown were assisted by Northern Lebanon Fire Services, Fire Police, and PennDOT.
