Blaschak Coal Corp, one of the nation’s leading producers and suppliers of anthracite coal, announced Tuesday that it has changed its corporate name to Blaschak Anthracite Corporation (d/b/a Blaschak Anthracite).
“We have always been an anthracite coal company, and we felt it only made sense for our name to reflect that,” said Boyd Kreglow, CEO of Blaschak Anthracite. “Our customers can continue to expect the same high-quality coal from us. However, since there are a variety of other coal options available on the market, we want it to be clear that we offer anthracite – the most environmentally friendly coal.”
Anthracite is the cleanest and hottest burning coal available, producing virtually no smoke or particulate emissions. It is naturally high in carbon and does not produce any creosote. Compared with gas, oil and wood, anthracite burns hotter and is a more cost-effective option.
“As consumers continue to move towards greener choices, it is more important than ever for people to consider environmentally friendly coal options, whether it be for heating, or other uses,” said Kreglow. “In addition to serving our customers, we will continue our work educating the public on the environmental benefits of using anthracite coal.”
According to the company, they are currently working with four universities on future anthracite uses, including soil enrichment activated carbon for filter systems, graphene and rare earth minerals.
“We look forward to continue servicing our customers as a market leader under our new name, Blaschak Anthracite,” said Kreglow.
