“I’m grateful that Minersville and Girardville were chosen to receive this highly competitive state funding,” said Argall. “These projects will improve the quality of life for people in both communities.”
“I am thrilled to see the projects for the Municipal Authority of the Borough of Minersville and Girardville Area Municipal Authority receive funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority,” said Twardzik. “The investment of over $5.3 million dollars for these two projects within the 123rd Legislative District will enhance our drinking and wastewater systems. This commitment allows for safer and cleaner drinking water throughout our communities.”
The Municipal Authority of the Borough of Minersville received a $1,677,256 grant and over $1 million in loans to replace about 6,500 feet of cast iron water mains and 150 service lines. This project will improve the quality of the drinking water for Minersville residents.
The Girardville Area Municipal Authority received a $2,651,300 grant to rehabilitate their wastewater treatment facility and replace sanitary collection system lines.
