A Gordon man is facing charges after an alleged incident in Hegins Township last weekend.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 around 1:00am, troopers were dispatched to the 1200 unit block of West Main Street in Hegins Township for the report of 911 hang up call.
The original caller, a female, later called emergency services through another phone and alleged that she was assaulted by a friend with a wooden board.
Troopers arrived on scene and determined that Gene Klinger, 45, of Gordon had become involved in an altercation with the caller and struck her with a wooden board, stole her phone, and held a knife to her neck. The victim was able to flee. She was also reported to have suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Klinger was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, theft, simple assault, harassment, and possession of an instrument of a crime.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer and released on $10,000 unsecured bail.
