One person is dead and another injured in a shooting in Mahanoy City early Sunday morning.
Around 3:00am, Sunday morning, police and EMS were dispatched to the 100 block of East Centre Street in Mahanoy City.
At the scene, two victims were found with gunshot wounds near the 123 Cafe and the Mahanoy City Elks. Early reports stated that the incident stemmed from the Hookah Bar across the street.
One of the victims was transported via EMS to Shenandoah where he was flown to an area hospital.
The second victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky..
East Centre Street was closed from Main Street to 4th Street while law enforcement investigated the scene.
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating including the Troop L Major Case and Forensic Services Unit.
