Seven people are displaced after a row home fire in Mahanoy City on Wednesday morning.
Just after 9:30am, emergency personnel were called to 632 East Mahanoy Street for a working house fire.
As crews arrived, they upgraded the fire to a 2nd alarm calling in additional units. Flames could be seen blowing from the roof of one of the homes as crews battled the fire.
By 10:30am, crews were able to stop the fire from spreading further through the many connected homes.
The homes at the addresses of 632 and 634 sustained the most damage with nearby homes sustaining damage as well.
The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen of one of the homes but a State Police Fire Marshal was called to investigate.
One pet was said to have died in the fire.
Two families have been displaced, a family of 2 adults and two children, and a family of two adults and a child.
The American Red Cross is assisting those that are affected.
