Born April 1, 1935 in Pottsville, he was the son of the late John and Helen (Zimmerman) Miller.
He was a graduate of the former Branch Township High School. As a member of the Bible Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Schuylkill Haven, he served as head Deacon and Song Leader. He was a also a member of the Four Square Gospel Church, Muir.
He volunteered his time coaching the Branch Township Little League; was the pitcher for “Shadle’s Garage” slow pitch softball team; and belonged to bowling leagues at the former Plaza Lanes, Pottsville.
Arthur began his career in the construction industry then became employed by the former Paper Box Factory, Schuylkill Haven, where he met a sweet girl named Shirley Mae Geist who he would fall in love with and spend 66 years in wedded bliss. He became employed by the former Quaker Maid Kitchens and eventually retire from the Hexcel Corporation at the age of 76.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Mae (Geist) Miller (December 6, 2020); a son Arthur J. Miller, Jr. (June 11, 2021); brothers Lester, David, Horatio “Doc”, Clarence, and John; and sisters Dolores and Joyce.
“Our fondest memory of Dad was sitting in his recliner reading his Bible. We love you Dad”.
Surviving are sons Craig Miller husband of Joy; Duane Miller husband of Cindy; and Kevin Miller husband of Teresa; daughters Denise Adams and Brenda Somers wife of George; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother Earl Miller; sister Irene Uranko; and family dog Malachi.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday evening from 5PM until 8PM at the Bible Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, Schuylkill Haven. Additional calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9AM until the time of service at 10AM. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10 AM, Pastor Doug Schwenk, Off. Interment will be held at the Cressona Cemetery.

Tony was born on February 20, 1934 in Forrestville, he was a son of the late Anthony S. Gurski, Helen Zulick Gurski Razzi and step father Anthony Razzi.
Tony was a veteran of the Korean War and VietNam Conflict, retiring with 20 years of service in the Air Force. Following his retirement from the Air Force in 1973, he was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Tremont, retiring after 21 years of service.
Tony was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved lighthouses, traveling, and played softball his entire adult life until the age of 70. He coached Teener League with his sons and was an avid fan at his granddaughters' softball games. Tony was a life member of the Pine Grove VFW Post 3432 and the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374, and was a member of the Pine Grove Lions. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove since 1973.
Surviving are his wife, Jeannie L. Luedtke Gurski to whom he would have been married 62 years on October 29; three sons, Anthony Gurski, Jr., and wife Margaret of Pine Grove, Scot Gurski and wife Robin of Pine Grove, Michael Gurski and partner Denise of Franklin, NJ; two daughters, Cindy Sims and husband Rod of Schuylkill Haven, and Kathy Quick and husband Ivan Jr., of Ashland; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a brother, Charles Gurski, sister, Gladys Gehrig and granddaughter Alicia Gursky.
Funeral services will be held at H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday, October 26, at 12:30 pm with SALM John Ziegler officiating. There will be a viewing on Tuesday, October 26, from 10:30 am until time of service at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will follow in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA

Phoebe M. Wall, 91, Frackville passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18th at Seton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Orwigsburg.
Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Wilson and Phoebe Craig Moyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Wall in 2003 and her son Richard D. Wall in 1982.
Phoebe is survived by her two sons: Robert and his wife Nancy Wall, Tafton; Lawrence and his wife Sandy Wall, Delaware; her daughter, June and her husband Ted Eister, Middleport; a sister, Ethel and her husband Sam Morgan, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 22nd from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville with Rev. Craig Zimmerman officiating. Melina Capitanio, age 100, of Mahanoy City, died Monday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill in Pottsville.
Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Dominick and Norina (Bisio) Capitanio. She graduated from St. Canicus Parochial School and later attended and graduated from Mahanoy City High School Class of 1938.
She was employed for most of her life as a legal secretary. Prior to her retirement in 1991, she was employed with the law offices of Williamson, Friedberg and Jones in Pottsville. Her prior employment was for the late Attorneys James J. Gallagher and Frank A. Gallagher of Mahanoy City. Upon their death, she worked for Attorneys Thomas B. Noonan, Fred C. Pace and John Lavelle. She also worked at ICI America former Atlas Powder Company in Reynolds for several years. She was a member of St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City and served as a lector, the Mother Teresa Sodality, and was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America for over 50 years. She was a member of the Mahanoy City Senior Citizens and Golden Age Clubs. She was a member of the Senior Corp RSVP (retired senior volunteer program) of Schuylkill County and received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award in 2010. She was also a member of the advisory board of the Mahanoy City Recreation Center. She received from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania a certificate in celebration of her induction into the Pennsylvanian Voter Hall of Fame for consecutively voting in the November elections for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her brothers James, Louis, Thomas and Armond and a sister Mary.
The last member of her immediate family she is survived by 2 nephews Louis J. Capitanio of Alexandria VA and Joseph A. Capitanio of Tamaqua.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by the Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher on Friday morning at 10:30 AM from St. Teresa of Calcutta Church in Mahanoy City. Interment will follow in St. Fidelis Cemetery in Mahanoy Township. She was the second oldest, and last surviving, of the ten children of Maurice and Mary (Powers) O’Brien, born in Pottsville on Saturday, September 27, 1924. Jean was a 1942 graduate of Pottsville High School, married Joseph Dronick on January 9, 1943 and was a homemaker until Joe’s passing in 1972. She then worked as a seamstress at Peek-a-Boo blouse factory in Schuylkill Haven, then Pine Shirt Company in Pottsville until its closing.
Jean was a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Minersville, where she was a member of the Women’s Sodality. Until her health prevented it, she was a volunteer, preparing for and working at the annual church picnic. She was a former member of the St. Nicholas School PTA and served as its President, starting the Bingo games that supported the school for many years. Also active in her community, she was a former member of the Branch Township Booster Club and was an Auditor for the Township for twelve years.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crochet, sewing, reading and bus trips with her sisters; but her greatest love was for her family. She hosted many, many holiday dinners and especially enjoyed watching the grandkids discover the clever ways she hid their cash gifts for Christmas Eve.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her parents, siblings and their spouses: Mary & Abraham (Bud) Bowers; Bernice & Charles (Chuck) Fitzgerald; Frances and Andrew Cuccia; Patricia & Daniel Kelly; Maurice O’Brien; Michael & Nancy O’Brien; Cornelius (Neil) O’Brien; William O’Brien; Robert and Terry O’Brien; her Great Grandson, Luis E. Colon, Jr. and several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Dronick, Minersville and Deborah J. Dasch and her spouse Frederick (Rick) Dasch, Friedensburg; her grandchildren, James J. Mihalski, Maria K. Mihalski and her spouse, Wayne Ahner, Abigail K. Mills, Samantha J. Marx, Andrew J. Marx, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Joshua L. Ney, Marques D. Middleton, Sierra Mihalski, Cheyenne Mihalski, and Emily Dasch; great-great grandchildren, Elijah, Nylah, Colton, and a Baby Girl due in January. She is also survived by sisters-in-law: Ernestine, Doris and Diane O’Brien and numerous nieces and nephews.
