Mahanoy City Elks Lodge No. 695 hosted their annual Veterans Day Dinner on November 11 at the lodge entertaining over 70 veterans and guests.
Exalted Ruler, Linda Fetter, also presented monetary donations obtained through the Elks National Foundation, to the American Legion Post 74 toward its annual Thanksgiving dinner for $700, and $3,500 to the Schuylkill Community Action to be divided between three local food pantries: St. Vincent de Paul in Mahanoy City, Shenandoah Area Food Pantry and Ringtown Area Food Pantry.
Teacher, Suzanne Mayberry presented an 8-minute video by Mahanoy Area students and faculty sharing their gratitude and appreciation for veterans and Guest Speaker, John McGauley, VA Services Representative, spoke about the importance of our veterans and the services available to them.
The event was free to all Veterans.
