No Injuries Reported After Tractor Trailer Travels Off Bridge on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County

The driver of a tractor trailer walked away uninjured after a crash on Interstate 81 in Luzerne County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton the crash occurred as a tractor trailer with an empty trailer) was traveling Southbound on I-81, Butler Twp, Luzerne County near mile marker 149.

The tractor trailer exited the left side of the roadway for unknown reasons, struck a guide rail and continued through the median before traveling off the bridge and coming to final rest on St. Johns Road.

The driver was not injured.

St Johns Rd between Mill Mountain Rd and N Beisels Rd will be closed for an extended period of time until the truck is removed.

Assisting at the scene were Valley Regional Fire, Medic 26, Butler Twp Police, Zenier’s Towing, and PennDOT.

Charges are pending as this incident is still under investigation by PSP Hazleton.
