Just before 5:00pm, on Friday, emergency personnel were called to a 3 vehicle motor vehicle accident with one vehicle on fire at the intersection of Deep Creek Road and Sunbury Road/Route 901 in Barry Township.
The crash involved 2 SUV's and a pick up truck colliding at the intersection. One of the SUV's caught fire but a passerby with a fire extinguisher put out the fire in the engine compartment before fire personnel arrived. A third vehicle involved came to a stop approximately 30 yards into a nearby field.
The driver of one of the vehicle's was taken to an area hospital via Minersville EMS with injuries. Three other victims were checked out at the scene but refused any medical treatment.
Responding to the scene were the Lavelle Fire Company, Gordon Fire Company, and Washington Rescue from Ashland.
State Police were at the scene investigating.
