A man abandoned his vehicle after a crash in Palo Alto early Monday.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident began just after 4:00am on Monday, December 27th, 2021 on West Bacon Street in Palo Alto.
Troopers say David Bowers, 21, of Bethel, PA was driving west in a Chevrolet Silverado on Bacon Street when he struck a utility pole at 134 West Bacon.
Bowers lost one of his wheels in the crash but continued to the intersection of Bacon Street and Route 61 before fleeing on foot.
Bowers was charged with careless driving, duty to give information or render aid, and other driving offenses.
PPL was also called to this incident after the initial crash knocked out power to part of Palo Alto.
