Morea Road in Mahanoy Township is closed Monday afternoon after a drill truck overturned.
The incident occurred around 11:30am, Monday, when a truck that was drilling on the south side of Morea Road across from Conoco Gas Station, overturned landing on the trailer of a parked truck.
No injuries were reported but the drill truck began leaking fuel onto Morea Road, prompting a call to the fire department and Schuylkill EMA.
As of 1:30pm, Morea Road was still closed from the entrance to Interstate 81 south to Route 54/Vulcan Hill Road.
State Police were at the scene investigating. The Humane Fire Company from Mahanoy City assisted with cleanup and traffic control. Numerous heavy wreckers were called to assist.
