Pottsville replaced the tree that was wrecked in a crash last week.
On November 27th, 2021, Mayor Muldowney officially lit the city Christmas tree in Pottsville's Garfield Square. It was a beautiful tree.
On Tuesday November 30th, that beautiful tree was brought down after a driver distracted by his cell phone drove into the tree snapping it and almost ruining Christmas. The driver, from Allentown, would be charged with careless driving.
The next day, City officials went to work searching for a replacement.
This past Tuesday, a new tree was brought in and the lights were rehung and by Tuesday evening Christmas was back on in the city of Pottsville.
