Born in Shenandoah on June 12, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Yuhas) Nalipi.
She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Dot was a retired seamstress having worked in the local garment industry. She retired from the former Jo-Vin Dress Factory, Shenandoah.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Annunciation BVM Church. Throughout her life, Dot was a volunteer for many parish activities especially the annual parish bazaar. She was also member of the ILGWU.
Dorothy was devoted to her family. She took great pleasure in the time they spent together and especially cherished the time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, John J. “Swallow” Finneran on March 23, 1987; her daughter, Kathleen A. “Kathy” Rooney on July 28, 2012; one sister, Mary Petroshonis; and two brothers, Michael and Andrew Nalipi.
Surviving are her son, John A. Finneran and his wife Suzanne of Mechanicsville; six grandchildren, John P. Finneran and his wife Amanda of Schuylkill Haven, Renee Medina of Frackville, Brian P. Finneran and his wife Krystal of Barnesville, Michael Rooney and his wife Mary of Maryland, Christopher Rooney and his wife Kendra of Pottsville and Thomas Rooney and his wife Danielle of Frackville; eight great-grandchildren, twins, Marcus and Evan Medina, Daxton and Hadley Finneran, Bella and Brady Rooney, and Brogan and Finley Rooney; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 8:00 am until 9:45 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah.

Joseph Stephen Rodick, 52, of Frackville, passed away on Saturday, December 11th at the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Schuylkill East, Pottsville.
Born in Pottsville on August 3rd, 1969, he was the son of the late Stephen Rodick and Mary Ann Kovach.
Joe was a 1987 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. He then joined United States Army having served during the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. Joe then worked for Lowe’s as an Operations Coach. He enjoyed coin collecting, searching for antiques, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He leaves behind his children, Joseph and Noah Rodick – Frackville, his daughters, Jackie Weissman – New York and Samara Rodick – Frackville, his sister, Lisa Quin with Scott – Girardville, also 1 niece and 1 nephew.
