Highway Restrictions to Begin Overnight on Eastern Pennsylvania Highways Due to Inclement Weather

Due to the forecasted inclement weather overnight and into Sunday, PennDOT has announced highway restrictions that will go into place and will be in effect until further notice.

At 12:00am, PennDOT will be enacting the a Commercial Vehicle Ban on Sunday, 01/09/2022 at 12:00 AM – FULL Commercial Vehicle Ban on Interstate 80 (from I-79 to I-81).

At 2:00am, PennDOT will be enacting a Commercial Vehicle Ban on Sunday, 01/09/2022 at 2:00 AM – FULL Commercial Vehicle Ban for the entire length of I-78, I-80, I-81, I-180 and I-380.

Freezing rain is expected to begin in Schuylkill County around 4:00am and last until Sunday afternoon and end as showers around 4:00pm.
