Typically, the number 13 is bad luck, but it was a very important number Thursday night during the North Schuylkill Lady Spartans basketball game against Pottsville.
#13 Junior Kamryn Mengel went into the Spartans' 13th game of the season with only, you guessed it, 13 points left to earned her 1,000th point at North Schuylkill.
It only took her one and a half quarters to reach double digits to earn enough points and be added to a prestigious group of athletes.
The game was stopped and Kamryn was joined by her parents, Andrea and David, and brother Caden.
Kamryn finished the game with 17 points and the Spartans would win the game 69-46.
