Man Wanted for Murder in Mahanoy City Taken into Custody in Tennessee by US Marshals



On Tuesday, United States Marshal Martin J. Pane announced the arrest of Santonio Pierre Malone, a 36-year-old man wanted for murder in Mahanoy City.

Santanio Pierre Malone, aka "Sosa", 36, with a last known address in Shenandoah was wanted on charges of Murder in the First Degree, Murder in the Third Degree,  multiple charges of Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, and recklessly endangering another person.

Malone's charges are in relation to a shooting that occurred on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 around 2:50am, at the Rmusic21 Lounge also known as the Hookah Lounge, located in the 100 block of East Centre Street in Mahanoy City.

Malone allegedly shot two people killing, Juan Carolos Romero, 33, of Hazleton, and critically injuring Alorfi Bladimir Ramirez, 29, of Hazle Township.

After the shooting, Malone fled the scene.  Later that day, State Police issued a warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday, around 10:45 a.m., members of the USMS Fugitive Task Force checked a home in the 1600 block of Gregory Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, and arrested Malone without incident. He was turned over to the Memphis Police Department for booking and arraignment.

United States Marshal Pane stated, “It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with violent crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that members of the affected communities will find some measure of comfort knowing this suspect will face justice.”

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county, and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Wilkes-Barre Police Department; the Kingston Police Department; the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office; and the Scranton Police Department – all of whom participated in this investigation.
