A Pottsville man was injured in a crash on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township late Friday.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred around 8:50pm in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 near mile marker 130.9 between the on and off ramps at the Mahanoy City Exit.
Troopers say the crash occurred as Christopher Kristoff, 22, of Pottsville in a Chevrolet Cruze was traveling in the left of the highway negotiating a right curve in the roadway and traveled into the median.
His vehicle struck a dirt embankment in the median causing the vehicle to go airborne and land back on the highway.
Kristoff was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Kristoff will be cited for careless driving for the incident. State Police say the investigation into the crash continues.
