Claire L. McAvoy, 99 of Girardville, PA passed away Saturday, Jan. 22,2022 at Shenandoah Manor Nursing & Rehab. Center, Shenandoah, PA.Born in Girardville May 4,1922 the daughter of the late Edward and Kezia (Humes) Calvert. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Girardville. Graduated from Girardville High School in 1939; worked in the garment industry until retirement. She enjoyed dancing, especially the jitterbug, cooking, going to the casino and playing Bingo. We would like to thank the staff at Shenandoah Manor for taking such care of our Mom and she loved it there.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was her husband James M. McAvoy who passed away Nov. 4,1987. Two daughters survive: Sharon wife of Edward Smith and Nancy Goodale both of Girardville, PA. Five grandchildren survive: Andrea, Eddie, Maryellen, Eric and Kyle. Eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Wednesday, Jan.26,2022 at 11:00 AM from the First United Methodist Church, East Main St. Girardville, PA.

Vivian Ruth Wersinger, 73, of Freeland, PA died on Friday, January 21, 2022, at home.
Born in Hazleton, PA on July 29, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Vivian (Peltz) Schnaufer. Full of life and outgoing, Vivian was always eager to visit and be in the company of others. She was known for her funny personality. Vivian loved her children, grandchildren, and her dog.
She is survived by her life partner, Ronald Tini; daughters, Tiffany A. Wandel and her husband John and Melissa M. Mease and her husband, John; sons, Thomas, Austin, Michael, and Jason Wersinger; grandchildren, Jessica and her fiance Jacob, Justin had his fiancee Kristen, Kylie, Nikolat, Dominic, Ariana, and Logan; great grandchildren, Oliver and Hannah; sisters, Nancy Meiser, Margaret Kleppinger and her husband George, Debra Sensenbach, Gloria Bonner and her husband John, Lisa Sponenberg and her husband Brian, and Beckie Weber; numerous nephews and nieces; and her loyal canine companion, Stanley.
Vivian was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Emmaleigh and brothers, Lawrence Schnaufer, Jr. and James Schnaufer.

Jean E. (Whalen) Boris, 76, of Minersville, passed away unexpectedly in her residence on Wednesday evening.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Born in Pottsville on May 25, 1945, she was a daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Thompson) Whalen.
She was a a graduate of Pottsville High School.
Jean was a dispatcher for the 911 Communication Center for over 20 years. She was also, a Recorder of Deeds for a number of years.
She enjoyed volunteering for Hillside SPCA.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Boris, Sr., in March 2009, and to whom she was married 40 years.
Jean is survived by two daughters: Jeanne E. Brendle, wife of Troy, of Deer Lake; Jodie E. Mowrer, of Orwigsburg; two sons: Jason E. Boris, of Saint Clair; Joseph E. Boris, Jr.; grandchildren: Cian Nedinsky, Dakota and Madison Brendle, Jaydon Boris, KyLee Mowrer, and Joey and Joelle Boris; and her faithful pup, Bleu.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 28th, at 7:00 p.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville with Pastor Bob Kensinger officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until time of service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Charlotte M. Heiber, 77 of Macungie, PA, formerly of Ashland, PA passed away Saturday, Jan. 22,2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown, PA.Born in Valley View, PA April 24,1944 the daughter of Susan (Kehler) Grose,Pottsville, PA and the late Merlin Grose.
Surviving are her husband Raymond Heiber of Macungie, PA . Six children: Stephanie Rood, Raymond K. Heiber, Susan L. McCormick, Russell S. Heiber, Monica Marie Heiber, and Tracy E. MacRitchie. Three brothers: Terry, Merlin and Roger Grose.
Eleven Grandchildren, three great grandchildren nieces and nephews survive.
