Yuengling Responds to Updated Anheuser Busch Logo
In a similar story to several months ago, Yuengling is responding to an announcement by rival beer company, Anheuser Busch.
This story begins back in December when America's Oldest Brewery, Yuengling, based in Pottsville, responded to an announcement of a new campaign by Bud Light, owned by Anheuser Busch.
The new slogan announced on December 15th, 2021 by Bud Light "Coming February 2022, experience the next generation of beer" was VERY similar to Yuengling Flight's slogan "Next Generation of Light Beer".
Yuengling went after Bud light on all their social media accounts responding with "we know imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but this is going a bit too far."
A little more than a month later, Anheuser Busch seems to have revealed a new logo that looks very similar to Yuengling's as well.
Both breweries have always used Bald Eagles in their logos but it's the color that got Yuengling's attention.
On January 18th, 2022, Anheuser Busch announced "We're excited to unveil our updated logo and visual identity".
The new updated logo took Anheuser Busch's typically colored logo and made it all gold, similar to Yuengling's.
Yuengling responded Wednesday showing the similarities.
Cool new Eagle. We’re flattered. Yuengling, America’s Oldest Brewery, established 1829. https://t.co/nP0FSZJdGp pic.twitter.com/4hyyLdpOpt

In a press release by Anheuser Busch, the brewery described the change as "The new look is equal parts inspiration and aspiration – respecting the company’s proud heritage while looking forward to its bright future. The 'A&Eagle,' one of Anheuser-Busch’s most distinctive assets, is now rendered in a dynamic gold color that mirrors the golden hue of beer and barley, the cornerstones of Anheuser-Busch’s business. The eagle is now facing to the right and firmly in flight, boldly gazing into the future."
