The Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton say they've solved a cold case into a homicide investigation in Luzerne County.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, on March 18th, 1964, Marise Ann Chiverella was raped and murdered near Hazleton.
Since then the investigation went cold.
In 2007, after new technology was developed, investigations like Chiverella's death are checked monthly against all new entries into DNA databases and until recently, there was no match.
State Police now say a suspect's DNA has developed and they have identified the assailant in the brutal crime.
On Thursday, State Police will be holding a special news conference to share more information about the case.
