A fire police official at the scene of a crash on Thursday afternoon suffered minor injuries after being struck by a passing vehicle.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, around 3:00pm, on Thursday, Michael Bologna, 70, a fire police official, was assisting at the scene of a crash on Route 61 in North Manheim Township near Orwigsburg.
As with protocol, Bologna was wearing reflective yellow clothing.
While directing traffic, Bologna was approached from behind by a Pontiac Grand AM that made contact with his leg as it passed.
The driver continued and fled the scene.
An investigation led to the finding that the driver, Doreen Korell, 63, of Orwigsburg was the driver of that vehicle. Korell told Troopers that she didn't know she made contact with Bologna.
Bologna was evaluated by EMS and is reported to have suffered minor injuries.
