Born in Pottsville, on March 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Edward R. and Margaret (Doolin) Zuppert.
Edward graduated from Pottsville Area High School and worked as a production manager at Kaytee Products, Cressona, for over 47 years.
He was a devote member of St. Clare of Assisi Church, St. Clair and formerly Immaculate Conception Church. He was a member of the Holy Name Society for over 30 years, former President of the Schuylkill County Holy Name Society for 15 years. Edward worked the Holy Name Breakfast for Immaculate Conception and St. Clare of Assisi Church for over 30 years. For more than 20 years, Edward would say the rosary once a month on a Thursday at the Yorkville Nursing Home. He served at Immaculate Conception Church as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by; daughter, Melissa Zuppert. A grandson, Caleb and a brother, Robert Zuppert
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 51 years, JoAnn (Kolenick) Zuppert; daughter, Andrea Renee Prete and husband, Christopher, Shamokin, 7 grandchildren, Alexyss, Ambur, Ethan, Kyra, Viktoreea, Christopher and Ava, a niece and several nephews.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM at Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 515 West Market St, Pottsville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at St. Clare of Assisi Church, 250 E. Hancock St., St. Clair. Officiating will be Revered Msgr. William F. Glosser. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

He was born in Pottsville, PA on September 30, 1941 and was the son of Girard and Erma Beck Wood. His parents preceded him in death, along with maternal grandparents Nelson and Edna Schneck Beck, Pine Grove, paternal grandparents William and Florence Wood, Branchdale, a cousin Linda Lou Beck Felty, Lebanon and a niece Traci Shott, Pine Grove. Also preceding Barry was Kenneth E Britten. He was his companion for many years and on December 9, 2014 they were married and spent the last 6 years together until November 4, 2020 when Kenny died.
Barry grew up in Pine Grove. His love of the theater began early in his life. As a child he would go to the Pine Grove movie theater along with his sisters to see whatever was playing. At that time the theater was run by Irvin Gassert. The cost was 12 cents and they all had 5 cents to put in the candy machine. So now you know why he always said "I was a boy who grew up at the Saturday matinee."
From there he attended St Peter's Reformed Church (now UCC) and jumped right in to help others develop short skits with the Youth Fellowship Group. Barry was crazy over musicals. He fell in love with all Jeannette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy movies. He joined their fan club and I am sure he was one of their biggest fans.
He graduated from Pine Grove High School in the Class of 1959. After high school he continued his education in McCann's Business School in Harrisburg and then went to work at the Veteran's Administration in Washington DC. While he was there he and his sister, Maxine, had the pleasure to meet Nelson Eddy in person, one of the highlights of his life. From there he attended Berea College in Kentucky and received a B.A. in English and Speech in 1969. Barry met Jannette Pugh when he went to Berea College in 1969. They were married in Pine Grove on August 22, 1970. Barry started in Peters Township in 1971 and for his first several plays she made a lot of the costumes. They later divorced in July 1977. It was a very friendly divorce and they have always been in contact with each other.
In 1971 he was hired at Peters Township by Dr Howard Jack and continued to teach English and Theater for 39 years and retired in June 2010. During those years he put on muscials, comedies, dramas, dancing, etc. using any of the students wherever he needed them. Sometimes they would have several plays during the year. Now that wasn't all! At the end of the school year they would have an awards program for the students. Just like the Academy Awards for movies. They had a 20 year reunion to honor Barry and those students who were involved with all of the plays. His 3 sisters attended. After all the ceremonies and the honoring of Mr Wood they told him they are now going to name the award. It is now known as the "Barry Award".
He received a Master of Arts in Teaching (Education) from the University of Pittsburgh in 1972 and a Master of Fine Arts in Theater (Directing) from Ohio University in 1971.
In 2007, he returned to his High School Alumni Banquet to receive the Distinguished Alumnus Award for all his outstanding achievements during his teaching.
He was a teacher and director for Peters Township, McMurray, Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University, Washington and Jefferson College, Waynesburg University, Berkshire Center for the Performing Arts, and director and choreographer for the Washington Community Theater.
He established the Annual Awards Ceremony at Peters Township, the Peters Dance Company and was Co-founder of the Hillside Players and The Thespian Troupe 185.
He was named to the Teacher Excellence Center's Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh, a nominee for the Disney Teacher Award and invited to the American High School Festival in Scotland.
He was a Deacon and Elder at the First Presbyterian Church 1793 in Washington. He received the Dr Howard Jack Outstanding Public Educator Award. This award came from the man himself who hired him and always remained an inspiration and mentor to him.
Surviving him are his three sisters, Maxine (Terry) Zimmerman, Pine Grove, Pamela (Fred) Grabe, Florida, Wanda (Fred) Schneck, Pine Grove, cousins, niece, nephews.
Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church 1793 at 100 E Wheeling St, Washington PA 15301.
We the family would like to thank Country Meadows of Bridgeville and Hershey for taking care of our brother and also Grane Hospice Care from Camp Hill for seeing him through his end stages but most important were Barry's former students and precious true friends that were faithful with their gifts, cards, phone calls and amazing and memorable letters. You were the best.
And now Barry this completes your final act in life - you may now "EXIT STAGE LEFT".

Paul C. Sankus, 69, Fountain Springs passed away peacefully Friday surrounded by his family at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, from complications due to Covid 19.
Per Paul’s wishes services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family

Tim was born Monday, November 23, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harry and Katherine (Sabulsky) Roman. He was predeceased by his companion of 20 years, Mary Zapotosky; son, Timmy Roman.
Tim was a devoted family man, who oversaw a large extended family. Surviving are sons, Roger McDuffie and his wife Angela, Daniel Roman and his partner Jon, Michael McDuffie; daughters, Lisa Lutz, Diane Rauseo, Aimee Roman; brother, William Roman and his wife Rose; Parallel family, Jason Zapotosky and his wife Tiffany, Tyler Zapotosky, Star Joyce and her husband John, Brittany Zapotosky, Ashley Zapotosky, Vanessa Zapotosky; 19 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
A roofer and truck driver by trade, Tim was also an established farmer in his community. Known for his easy smile, sense of humor, and generosity in always willing to help a neighbor, he had many friends who loved him in addition to his family. Tim enjoyed gardening, playing cards, shooting pool, making boilo, and kept his mind sharp doing crossword puzzles. Living on the farm, Tim enjoyed bird watching, and all the wildlife and nature that surrounded him.

She was born on May 5, 1949 in Ashland and was the daughter of the late Mildred (Kashinoski) and Fredrick Watkins. She was the youngest of 6 children.
Marion was a beloved wife of noble character to Victor M. Bridy Sr. The couple who were school sweethearts shared an amazing love for each other long before they were married on August 26, 1967. Together as one flesh, they shared a deep love and commitment to each other and their family. They built a home together in Kulpmont in 1976 where they raised their three children.
Marion’s personal relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ, spiritual rebirth, and faithfulness in prayer were very important her. Her legacy of love and commitment to her family was a testimony to all who knew her. She was a stay at home mother for 14 years and firmly believed that if one was to change the world they should go home and love their family.
Above all else, Marion enjoyed reading her Bible and prayer time each morning. She loved to spend time with her husband, children, grandchildren and extended family. She is best known for finding ways to serve others. She was an attentive listener and problem solver. She enjoyed crocheting and was a blessing to all who knew her. Marion was caring and gifted with hospitality. She was an excellent cook and no one ever left her house hungry. She enjoyed hosting several family reunions in her home over the years.
Marion demonstrated an exceptional work ethic while serving in the garment industry as a quality assurance manager for various companies, where her eye for detail and relationship building skills were put to good use. Later, she was employed in a family-owned business, Split Vein Coal Company, where she and her sister, Margaret Swank, demonstrated entrepreneurship. Marion was always seeking to encourage and share kindness with others, especially those in need, that crossed her path.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by; sister Jean LaCrosse; sister Claire Bronkoski; sister Louise Stello; brother George Watkins.
Marion is survived by her loving husband Victor; son Victor Jr. husband of Lori, Orlando, FL; son Stephen husband of Kimberly, Kulpmont; daughter Kimberly Delbo wife of Robert, Elysburg.
She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren; Robert Delbo husband of Megan; Gabriel Delbo; Gabriella Smith wife of Brennan; Phoebe Bridy, Hannah Bridy, Stephen Bridy, and Thomas Bridy. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret Swank of Shamokin and many nieces and nephews. Marion will be greatly missed by her family which she nurtured and taught. Her legacy of love, faith, values, and wisdom will influence generations to come long after her time walking this earthly scene.
In her final days, Marion was comforted knowing that those nearest to her professed to trust the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday February 11th at 11AM at the Rothermel-Heizenroth-Clark Funeral Home, Elysburg. Marion’s family will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to call from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at All Saints Cemetery.

Born and raised in Fountain Springs, to the late William H and Catherine A (Edwards) Wallace, he pursued an interest in aviation from a young age in the Civil Air Patrol. He attended Wyoming Seminary, Kingston, and graduated Ashland Area Joint High School, Butler Township, in 1966. Edward attended Williamsport Area Community College graduating with a degree in Applied Science of Airframe and Powerplant in 1968. He worked for several years at Turner Airfield in Hatboro, PA, eventually returning to Ashland to establish and operate House Medic Inc.
Edward’s community involvement included leading an Ashland Medical Explorer Post and being an active member of the Washington Fire Company and Community Ambulance. He was one of the first classes of Emergency Medical Technicians to serve the community.
Employed by the Borough of Ashland for more than 25 years, he served as Project Director and later as the Borough Manager. During his tenure, he was instrumental in accomplishments that included; the development of Oakland and its community park, speculative building to attract industry, the construction of the borough’s water treatment plant, and the initiation of the summer lunch program.
Edward was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He enjoyed camping and loved the opportunity to spend time with his brother and family during bear season.
Edward was a member of the Good Shephard Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ashland.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his dear sister and brother, Diane Kay Broderick (1979) and William “Fred” Wallace (2018).
In addition to his wife Jean, Edward is survived by his son Edward W Wallace and his partner Leah Briggs, Ashland; his son Bryon B Wallace and his wife Jessica, Frackville; his son Walter H Wallace, Ashland; his grandchildren Joshua Wallace, Grace Wallace, Brandy Speer, Marisa Seritsky, Kaylee Wallace and Charlotte Schmidt. Also surviving are many close nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00pm - 7:00pm followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00pm on Wednesday, February 9 at Good Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ashland, with the Rev. Dana Heckman-Beil officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Edward’s memory to Washington Fire Company Community Ambulance Association, 1307 Centre St, Ashland PA 17921.

Scott was of the Methodist faith.
Scott last worked for Redco as a direct care worker.
He enjoyed reading, militaria, and taking day trips.
Scott is survived by his spouse Diane Miller; brother Raymond L. Miller husband of Janene, Pasadena, MD; sister Cathy A. Lutz wife of Stephen, Gordon; sister Susan R. Yashin wife of Steve, Ashland; sister Jan M. Miller, Middletown; step daughter Cathi Sherman, Lansford.

James J. Schreffler, III, 57 of Brier City, Pottsville, died Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest-Allentown.
He was born October 9, 1964 in Pottsville a son of the late James J., Jr and Sarah "Sally" Duffy Schreffler.
He was a 1983 graduate of Pottsville Area High School.
Jim was employed by the former Cressona Aluminum and Kaytee Products, both of Cressona.
Throughout his life Jim was an avid collectors of guns.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Geraldine Holley Schreffler; a son James J. Schreffler, IV and his wife Dana, Pottsville; a daughter, Samantha Schreffler, Pottsville; a grandson, James J. Rosemary Styka, 74, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Saturday, February 5th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Mahanoy City, PA, at 11 am on Thursday, February 10th, with Rev. Kevin P. Gallagher officiating.
