Shenandoah Man Charged for Hit and Run in West Mahanoy Township
The West Mahanoy Township Police have charged a Shenandoah man for causing an accident then fleeing the scene in early January.
According to police, on January 3rd, 2022, West Mahanoy Township Police were advised of a Hit-N-Run accident that just occurred, in the area of the Y intersection of Ringtown Blvd & Shenandoah Road, Route 924, involving a a white Acura with New York registration, that just struck the rear end of a white Mazda.
Police spoke to the victim who stated that after the incident, the vehicle pulled out, went into the opposite lane, and sped off driving recklessly. The victim stated that the vehicle was passing vehicles in no passing zones, traveling south on Route 924/Ringtown Blvd, toward Shenandoah.
As a result of an investigation, Mahanoy Township Police charged Dominic Hernandez, 32, of Shenandoah, with Accidents involving damage to attended vehicles, reckless driving, failing to stop to give info or render aid, driving without a license, driving with a suspended or revoked license, and passing where prohibited.
