Two people were injured in a crash in Pottsville on Tuesday morning.
According to Pottsville Police Richard Wojciechowsky, the accident occurred on around 10:30am on Tuesday, February 1st, 2022 in the 200 Block of Laurel Boulevard.
Emergency personnel responded to the one car accident and found Chevrolet Equinox that had traveled off the roadway and struck the Schuylkill Bicentennial monument in front of the Schuylkill County Courthouse.
Chief Wojciechowsky said officers learned that the vehicle driver had been traveling east on Laurel Blvd and for an unknown reason traveled across the westbound lanes, over the sidewalk and into the county property.
The 51-year-old male driver from Pottsville and his 48-year-old female passenger also from Pottsville were treated on scene and then transported by Schuylkill EMS to a local medical facility.
Pottsville Police are continuing to investigation the crash. No other vehicles, pedestrians or property involved.
