A pile up on the Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County on Monday morning has turned fatal.
The crash occurred just after 10:30am as a snow squall pushed through, near mile marker 116 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 81 just south of the Minersville Exit in Foster Township.
As of 1:30pm, multiple fire crews are working the scene and still extricating victims out of vehicles as well as putting out vehicle fires.
Anywhere from 20 to 40 vehicles are reported to have been involved.
Interstate 81 is closed at the Hegins Exit going northbound and the Highridge Exit going southbound.
Early reports are the Schuylkill County Coroner's Office is also at the scene for multiple victims.
There were also numerous injuries reported in other vehicles.
The American Red Cross is also at the scene.
