A quick response from firefighters kept a fire from being much worse in Shenandoah on Saturday morning.
Around 9:15am, Saturday morning, firefighters responded to smoke in a home at 310 West New York Street in Shenandoah.
As firefighters arrived on scene they found heavy smoke coming from the 2nd and 3rd floors of the home.
A search of the home found a working fire in the basement which was quickly knocked down.
The Shenandoah Fire Department and the West End Fire and Rescue from Mahanoy City responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported.
