The Nativity BVM Boys and Jim Thorpe Girls Basketball teams will play in the PIAA State Semifinals this weekend.First, the Nativity Hilltoppers are set to take on St. John Neumann on Friday night at Shamokin Area. Tipoff is 7:30pm.
The Hilltoppers earned their spot by dominating their way through Boys State Class A Bracket. Nativity defeated West Shore Christian 77-42 in the first round, Lancaster County Day 58-32 in the second, then Mount Calvary Christian 80-58 in the quarterfinals.
Should Nativity win on Friday night, they will face the winner of Bishop Canevin/Elk County for the State Class A Championship on Thursday, March 24th, 2022 at the Giant Center in Hershey.
Second, the Jim Thorpe Girls Basketball team will take on Archbishop Wood on Saturday, March 19th, 2022 at Liberty High School in Bethlehem at 2:30pm in the Semifinals.
The Olympians squeaked by Dunmore on Wednesday night in the Quarterfinals with a late game shot to win the game 40-39.
Should the Olympians win on Saturday, they will take on the winner of Lansdale Catholic/Villa Maria on Thursday, March 24th, 2022 for the State Class 4A Championship at the Giant Center in Hershey.
